At XtremeDesigns Inc.™ we realize every significant Web project poses unique challenges. We break down the overall development process for websites into the following basic stages:
  • Interview and Proposal: Through a phone call or an in-person meeting we obtain an understanding of our client’s website goals, needs, and strategies. A needs assessment is established, a cost estimate is determined and a written proposal is produced and presented to the client.

  • Site Planning: Following the approval of our proposal, a site map is designed, outlining site navigation and components involved. Changes and recommendations to the site map are made during this phase and require approval prior to commencement of the project. If required a domain name will be obtained and registered along with hosting service if included in the proposal.

Existing content is assessed and developed, outlining the requirements for your site. This entails color themes, page size requirements, font recommendations, logo branding and specific elements pertaining to the overall look and feel of the website. Xtreme Designs also pre-selects a variety of photos and images recommended for the site and presents our clients with a variety of existing sites that can be used to compare and contrast against in order to determine a benchmark or cornerstone from which to establish a reference used in developing a design that will meet our client’s needs.

  • Content Collection: The compilation of content is a collaborative effort between our staff and the client. The client will assign a Project Manager that will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities required, serving as liaisons between both entities, assigning and scheduling the appropriate personnel to perform required services as outlined in our agreement, and authorizing and executing any and all Change Orders.*

During our initial needs assessment we determine the content required and provide our clients with an outline that can be used to submit specific content for web pages required.

  • Design Approval: It is at this stage that Xtreme Designs develops a design template based on the established requirements and submits it to our clients for approval. The template will be the concept from which the overall website design will be based on. Once the template is approved any major design changes will require a Change Order* which will subsequently add to the cost of a project, so it is extremely important to discuss any suggestions or concerns prior to providing final design approval.

  • Development: After design approval, the web pages are developed and programmed according to pre-established guidelines. During this stage, the host server is configured, a test location is established to enable client access for observing the progress of their project, a splash page is created to establish a web presence while the project is being developed, email accounts are set-up, and progress reports are submitted in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the entire process.

  • Testing & Development Approval: During the development cycle our clients will have the opportunity to observe and make recommendations to the project. It is during this stage that any final changes are made. The testing of various elements within the application will be conducted. These tests will include code validation and optimization, examination of spelling, grammar and broken links, analysis of forms and databases and the overall functionality of the site. The site will also be tested on various versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers, viewed on various desktop settings (800 x 600 and 1024 x768), and checked on various computer processors.

Prior to transferring the website from its location on the testing server to its ultimate location on the host server the following receivables are required from the client: keywords and site description for search engine submissions. It is at this point that the client’s final approval is required prior to launching the website.

  • Upload to Live Server: The approved website replaces the splash page as it transfers from the testing server to the host server. It is then tested again for any last minute changes or adjustments.

  • Site Marketing: XtremeDesigns Inc. registers your site with the basic search engines and directories and discusses any special marketing requests such as website promotions or web marketing strategies with the client.

  • Final Stages: We provide you with a back up of your source code and any necessary information associated with your site, such as user names, passwords, IP address. We will also train you on the use of your web-based site administrative control panel when using our hosting service. All deliverables and receivables are reviewed to ensure compliance with all the objectives and goals and then final payments and agreement finalizations are made.

*Change Orders are any modifications to the project specifications or deliverables. All major design changes require Change Orders and will pertain to any changes or modifications in the overall design, universal graphics, navigational menus, or code that affects multiple web pages. Once the Change Order is accepted and executed by both parties applicable fees will be applied and the original agreement is appended with the new requirements. Upon completion of each deliverable, the client executes a written approval indicating the satisfactory completion of each task.
