What types of websites can you design?

What is a domain name?
A domain is your address on the Internet. It is used for your website and
email address. For must businesses your domain will closely resemble your
business name. A domain name is the address that your website will reside
at. Its what you'll tell everyone when they ask you if you have a website,
its what you print on all your business cards, letterheads and advertisements.
With this in mind you want to make sure your domain name is easy to remember,
and is close to your business name.
We recommend that you first check to see if you can register a domain in
the .com domain, for example www.yourcompanyname.com, if this is available,
use this for your website. If not, you should check for available names at
www.Register.com. Domain names ending in .com must be derived from your registered
business name, so it's a fairly safe bet that you will be able to register
it, in which case your website address would be in the form www.yourcompanyname.com. |
|
How is a
domain name registered?
We can register your choice of domain name, or you can have a domain name
you already own transfered to either our web host, or a host of your choice.
depending on whether you purchase our All-in-One package or just want to
choose a template from our A La Carte menu. Our All-in-One packages include
domain name registering. |
|
What is web hosting?
For a website to be seen on the internet, it needs to reside on a web server.
When someone visits a website they are actually accessing files on this
web server. Web hosting can be thought of as renting space on a web server.
A web host is someone that provides hosting services. When you register
a domain (www.yourcompany.com), you need a company and/or server to “host” it.
We provide you with that service and more. By selecting an All-in-One package
and indicating your domain name,we will set up your account and after a
few standard processes, your website will be online for anyone to see. |
|
What is shared (also known
as "virtual") web hosting?
Shared (or "virtual") hosting means that your website resides on a server
that is simultaneously hosting other sites. Your site will be allocated a
set amount of disk space and data transfer and in most instances, you will
be able to use your own domain name (eg. www.yourname.com). Note: that although
the server is being shared by other sites, your site's files are protected
and secure, unable to be accessed by the server's other users. |
 |
What
is eCommerce? Web Store?
eCommerce is the process of selling and buying goods and services on the
Internet. It can be used as extension of your business sales or you
can exclusively operate your business sales through the Web. A Web
Store is the name given to the actual website that displays your products
and does all of the shopping cart related activities (taking orders, calculating
taxes, charging credit cards, etc.) |
|
What are META tags?
Every page should have three META tags in the header of your website: Title,
Description and Keywords. META tags are an important part of your page
which allows your website to be found by search engines and directories
when someone performs a search. You should never have to pay extra for
META tags.
All of our clients rank very high on the search engines in their preferred
focus area. The reason that our clients' web pages score well with major
search engines is because we build honest, content-rich websites without
the use of any types of tricks or gimmicks. |
|
What is search engine optimzation?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is designing, writing, and coding (in HTML)
your entire website so in a manner that enables your web pages to appear
at the top of search engine queries for your selected keywords and key
phrases. |
|

can I view my website design while it's in progress?

project once it is done?

How do I upload my site once
I have purchased a web template?
To upload your website files to the server, you simply download an FTP program
(www.FlashFXP.com is highly recommended),
then connect to the server. In /public_html/ is where you will upload files
to be accessed in a web browser pointed to www.yourdomain.com.au. For example:
/public_html/testpage.html is equal to www.yourdomain.com/testpage.html. |
|
What types of

What questions should I be asking myself when thinking about a logo design?
What do I want my logo to represent? (Think key words: strength, resilience, quality, elegance, to name a few.) Where will my logo be displayed? What colors should my logo be? Should it include text, an image, or both? Should it have a special typeface? Does it need any special effects? How can it stand out from my competitors?
Remember: the more information you can provide us with, the better you can be assured of having the logo design that meets your exact needs. |
|
Can my logo be integrated
into other software, such as Word, Powerpoint, and web pages?
Yes. Each software program has its own specific menu command to best place your
logo into the program. However, not all software programs will have your logo
appearing the same way unless your logo is saved in the file format that works
best with that program. That's why it's a good idea to have your logo save in
multiple file formats so you can have a copy readily available for all your needs. |
